Al-Zahra Eye Hospital located in Zahedan, southeast of Iran, was established in 1988 as a specialty eye hospital but later the hospital gradually expanded to a subspecialty hospital. Al-Zahra is a 109-bed eye Hospital including 104 inpatient and 5 emergency beds. In the clinic of this subspecialty hospital, patients are admitted daily in five fields including: Posterior segment, anterior segment, Strabismus and Oculoplastic, Neuro-ophthalmology, and Optometry.
In addition, since the establishment of this hospital until the beginning of this year (2022), 10 faculty members of the Ophthalmology Department of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences have performed more than 116,000 surgeries
