According to Dr. Alireza Maleki, the head of Al-Zahra Eye Hospital, due to having leading and experienced ophthalmologists, in addition to routine treatments, new, effective, and minimally invasive surgical methods are used, which are always noticed by patients from within and outside the province for treatment.

He continued: Dr. Hossein Ali Shahriari, a specialist in the field of Retina and Vitreous surgery and the head of the Health and Treatment Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, has been involved in performing surgeries and treating patients in this field for over 30 years and has performed more than 15,000 surgeries.

“Dr. Arish, who is a sub-specialist in Glaucoma and Neuro-Ophthalmology, has a unique style in performing surgeries for glaucoma and so far, he has operated on about 17,000 patients,” he added “This specific surgical style have been documented in International Glaucoma Congress and International Journal of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Maleki expressed: “Dr. Rohani, a sub-specialist in Cornea and Lens, is a well-known and skilled specialist in performing corneal transplant and laser surgeries in the province and the country. He has performed 17,000 surgeries to date.”

He said: I, too, as a sub-specialist in Retina and Vitreous surgery with 37 years of experience in this hospital, have performed 20,000 surgeries. I have patented a new method in diabetic retinopathy, which was published in the reputable European Journal of Ophthalmology, fortunately.

The head of Al-Zahra Eye Hospital in Zahedan further stated: “Dr. Zanjani, a sub-specialist in Strabismus and Oculoplasty, who is one of the pioneers of ophthalmology in the country, has retired after performing 13,000 surgeries.” Dr. Salar, a sub-specialist in Strabismus and Pediatrics, has performed 10,000 surgeries. Late Dr. Aminifar, a sub-specialist in Cornea and Lens, has performed 10,000 surgeries.
